Ingredients
- 2–3 lbs beef ribs
- 1 cup barbecue sauce
- ½ cup beef broth
- 2 tablespoons brown sugar
- 1 teaspoon garlic powder
- 1 teaspoon onion powder
- ½ teaspoon smoked paprika
- Salt & black pepper, to taste
Instructions
- Prep the ribs
Pat the beef ribs dry with paper towels. Season generously on all sides with salt, black pepper, garlic powder, onion powder, and smoked paprika. - Optional sear (extra flavor)
Heat a skillet over medium-high heat with a little oil. Sear the ribs for 2–3 minutes per side until nicely browned. This step adds deep flavor but can be skipped if you’re short on time. - Make the sauce
In a bowl, mix together the barbecue sauce, beef broth, and brown sugar until well combined. - Slow cook
Place the ribs in the slow cooker. Pour the barbecue mixture over the ribs, making sure they’re well coated. - Cook low & slow
- LOW: 7–8 hours
- HIGH: 4–5 hours
Cook until the ribs are fork-tender and pulling away from the bone.
- Thicken & glaze (optional but amazing)
Carefully remove the ribs and place them on a baking sheet.
Brush with extra sauce and broil in the oven for 3–5 minutes until sticky and caramelized.
