Ingredients

  • 2–3 lbs beef ribs
  • 1 cup barbecue sauce
  • ½ cup beef broth
  • 2 tablespoons brown sugar
  • 1 teaspoon garlic powder
  • 1 teaspoon onion powder
  • ½ teaspoon smoked paprika
  • Salt & black pepper, to taste

Instructions

  1. Prep the ribs
Pat the beef ribs dry with paper towels. Season generously on all sides with salt, black pepper, garlic powder, onion powder, and smoked paprika.
  2. Optional sear (extra flavor)
Heat a skillet over medium-high heat with a little oil. Sear the ribs for 2–3 minutes per side until nicely browned. This step adds deep flavor but can be skipped if you’re short on time.
  3. Make the sauce
In a bowl, mix together the barbecue sauce, beef broth, and brown sugar until well combined.
  4. Slow cook
Place the ribs in the slow cooker. Pour the barbecue mixture over the ribs, making sure they’re well coated.
  5. Cook low & slow
    • LOW: 7–8 hours
    • HIGH: 4–5 hours
Cook until the ribs are fork-tender and pulling away from the bone.
  6. Thicken & glaze (optional but amazing)
Carefully remove the ribs and place them on a baking sheet.
Brush with extra sauce and broil in the oven for 3–5 minutes until sticky and caramelized.

Serving Ideas

  • Mashed potatoes or creamy polenta
  • Coleslaw or corn on the cob
  • Soft bread or dinner rolls to soak up that sauce 🤤

Pro Tips

  • Use smoky or honey BBQ sauce for extra depth
  • Add a splash of Worcestershire sauce or apple cider vinegar for balance
  • Leftovers taste even better the next day
