Slow Cooker Beef Tips with Mushroom Gravy
Ingredients
2 lbs beef stew meat or sirloin tips, cut into chunks
1 small onion, finely diced
2 cups sliced mushrooms
1 (10.5 oz) can beef consommé or beef broth (about 1½ cups if using broth)
1 packet onion soup mix
1 (10.5 oz) can cream of mushroom soup
1 tablespoon Worcestershire sauce
2 cloves garlic, minced
½ teaspoon black pepper
1 tablespoon cornstarch + 2 tablespoons water (optional, for thickening)
Instructions
Layer in Slow Cooker
Add beef to the bottom of the crockpot.
Top with onions and mushrooms.
Add Sauce
In a bowl, mix:
Beef consommé
Cream of mushroom soup
Onion soup mix
Worcestershire sauce
Garlic
Black pepper
Pour over the beef. Do not stir too much.
Cook
LOW: 7–8 hours
or
HIGH: 4–5 hours
Beef should be fork-tender.
Thicken (Optional)
If you want thicker gravy:
Mix cornstarch with water.
Stir into slow cooker during last 20–30 minutes.
Serve Over
Mashed potatoes
Buttered egg noodles
Steamed rice
With crusty bread
