Tennessee Onions (Cheesy Baked Onions)
🧾 Ingredients
3–4 large sweet onions (like Vidalia), sliced into rings
3 tablespoons butter, cut into small pieces
1 cup shredded cheddar cheese
1 cup shredded mozzarella cheese
½ cup grated Parmesan cheese
1 teaspoon garlic powder
Salt and black pepper, to taste
👩‍🍳 Instructions

  1. Prep the Oven
    Preheat oven to 350°F (175°C).
    Lightly grease a baking dish.
  2. Layer the Onions
    Separate onion slices into rings.
    Spread them evenly in the baking dish.
  3. Season
    Sprinkle with salt, pepper, and garlic powder.
  4. Add Butter
    Dot the onions with small pieces of butter.
  5. Add Cheese
    Sprinkle cheddar, mozzarella, and Parmesan evenly over the top.
  6. Bake
    Cover with foil and bake for 30 minutes.
    Remove foil and bake another 10–15 minutes, until cheese is melted, bubbly, and slightly golden.
    🍽️ Tips for Best Results
    Use sweet onions for the best flavor (they get soft and slightly caramelized).
    Add a pinch of paprika or cayenne for a little kick.
    Let it rest for 5 minutes before serving—it thickens slightly.
