🧾 Ingredients
For the dough:
3 cups all-purpose flour
2 1/4 tsp (1 packet) active dry yeast
1/4 cup sugar
1/2 tsp salt
3/4 cup warm milk (not hot)
1/4 cup butter, melted
1 egg
For coating/filling:
1/4 cup butter, melted
1/2 cup sugar
1 tsp cinnamon (optional)
For glaze:
1 cup powdered sugar
2–3 tbsp milk
1/2 tsp vanilla extract

  1. Activate the Yeast
    In a bowl, combine warm milk, sugar, and yeast.
    Let sit for 5–10 minutes until foamy.
  2. Make the Dough
    Add melted butter, egg, and salt to the yeast mixture.
    Gradually mix in flour until a soft dough forms.
    Knead for 8–10 minutes until smooth and elastic.
  3. Let It Rise
    Place dough in a greased bowl, cover, and let rise for 1 hour or until doubled in size.
  4. Shape the Rolls
    Punch down the dough.
    Divide into small pieces.
    Roll each piece into a rope and shape into rings (like donuts).
    Place on a lined baking sheet.
  5. Second Rise
    Cover and let rise again for 20–30 minutes.
  6. Bake
    Bake at 350°F (175°C) for 12–15 minutes until lightly golden.
  7. Coat or Glaze
    Option 1: Cinnamon Sugar
    Brush warm rolls with melted butter.
    Toss in sugar + cinnamon mixture.
    Option 2: Glaze
    Mix powdered sugar, milk, and vanilla.
    Drizzle over warm rolls.
    🍽️ Tips for Best Results
    Don’t overheat the milk—it can kill the yeast.
    For extra softness, don’t overbake.
    You can fry them instead of baking for a donut-style version.
