Steak Bites in an Air Fryer with Baby Potatoes and Red Onion
This meal is filling and comforting, but it doesn’t take much work to make. The potatoes get crunchy, the steak stays juicy, and the onions get a little sweet. Cleaning up is easy because everything cooks together.
Things you need
1 pound and a half of baby potatoes
Cut up 1 pound of steak (sirloin or ribeye work well) into small cubes.
½ red onion, cut into thin slices
2 tablespoons of olive oil
Adding flavor
1 teaspoon of garlic powder
1 teaspoon of paprika
½ teaspoon of dried oregano or Italian seasoning
Salt and black pepper, to taste
How to do it
The potatoes come first.
Mix the baby potatoes with 1 tablespoon of olive oil, salt, pepper, and a little bit of garlic powder.
Put them in the basket of the air fryer and cook them at 400°F (200°C) for 10 minutes to get them started.
Add some flavor to the steak
While the potatoes are cooking, mix the steak cubes with the rest of the olive oil, paprika, oregano, salt, and pepper.
Put in the onions and steak.
Put the steak and sliced red onion on top of the potatoes in the air fryer. Gently toss everything together so that it is mixed but still spread out.
Fry in the air until done
For another 8 to 10 minutes, shaking the basket halfway through, until:
The potatoes are soft and golden.
Steak bites are cooked to your liking and browned.
Let it sit and serve.
Let it sit for 2 to 3 minutes before serving so the steak stays juicy.
Advice that works in real life
Take your steak out a minute early if you like it medium-rare.
For more flavor, add some butter or garlic herb sauce at the end.
The next day, leftovers are great with eggs or in a wrap.
