Heaven On Earth Cake

Ingredients

  • 1 angel food cake, prepared
  • 1 package (3.4 oz) instant cheesecake pudding mix
  • 1 1/2 cups milk
  • 1 cup sour cream (or plain Greek yogurt)
  • 1 teaspoon vanilla
  • 1 pack (30 ounces) cherry pie filling
  • 1 container (8 ounces) cold whisk
  • 1 tablespoon roasted almond slices (optional)

Preparation

Cut the angels cake into cubes. Sit aside.In a bowl, whisking jointly the pudding blend / milk / sour cream / & vanilla extract . Sit apart .
In a 13 * 9 baking dish, placing half of cake cubes in bottom of pan. Placing half a spoonful of cherry pie filling on top of cake.
Repeat the cake layer. Pour pudding on surface of cake & divide it evenly.
Spoon the cold whisk over the pudding layer. Place the remaining pie filling on top.
Putting cake in fridge for 4 h  or . Sprinkle the almonds on top when ready to serve.


Instructions:

  1. Prepare Pudding Mixture:
    • In a mixing bowl, whisk together the cheesecake pudding mix and milk until smooth and slightly thickened.
    • Fold in the sour cream (or Greek yogurt) and vanilla extract until well combined.
  2. Layer the Trifle:
    • In a large trifle dish or individual cups, layer cubed angel food cake at the bottom.
    • Spread a layer of the cheesecake pudding mixture over the cake.
    • Add a layer of cherry pie filling.
    • Repeat layers until you reach the top of the dish, ending with cherry pie filling.
  3. Top with Whipped Topping:
    • Spread whipped topping over the final layer.
    • Sprinkle roasted almond slices on top for garnish (optional).
  4. Chill and Serve:
    • Cover and refrigerate for at least 2 hours before serving to allow the flavors to meld together.

Tips:

  • Cake: If you don’t have angel food cake, you can substitute pound cake or sponge cake.
  • Pudding: Experiment with different pudding flavors like vanilla or white chocolate for variation.
  • Fruit: Swap cherry pie filling with another fruit filling, such as blueberry, strawberry, or mixed berries.
  • Nuts: For added crunch, use toasted pecans or walnuts instead of almonds.
  • Presentation: Serve in clear glasses or jars for a portable, visually appealing dessert.
