Shrimp and Cod in Creamy Garlic Sauce
Tender shrimp and flaky cod simmered in a rich, buttery garlic cream sauce — elegant enough for guests, easy enough for weeknight dinner. Ingredients (Serves 4)
Seafood
12 oz (340 g) raw shrimp, peeled & deveined
12 oz (340 g) cod fillets, cut into large chunks
Salt & black pepper, to taste
½ teaspoon paprika (optional)
Creamy Garlic Sauce
2 tablespoons butter
1 tablespoon olive oil
4–5 cloves garlic, minced
1 small shallot or ½ small onion, finely chopped
1 cup heavy cream
½ cup chicken or seafood broth
½ cup freshly grated Parmesan cheese
1 teaspoon Italian seasoning
1 tablespoon lemon juice
1 tablespoon chopped fresh parsley Instructions
Season the Seafood
Pat shrimp and cod dry.
Season lightly with salt, pepper, and paprika. Sear the Cod
Heat olive oil in a large skillet over medium heat.
Add cod pieces and cook 2–3 minutes per side until lightly golden.
Remove carefully and set aside (it will finish cooking later). Cook the Shrimp
In the same skillet, add shrimp.
Cook 1–2 minutes per side until pink.
Remove and set aside. Make the Garlic Cream Sauce
Reduce heat to medium-low.
Add butter to skillet.
Sauté shallot 2–3 minutes until soft.
Add garlic and cook 30 seconds (don’t brown it).
Pour in broth and simmer 2 minutes.
Stir in heavy cream and Italian seasoning.
Simmer 3–5 minutes until slightly thickened.
Add Parmesan and stir until smooth. Combine & Finish
Return cod and shrimp to the skillet.
Spoon sauce over the top.
Simmer gently 3–4 minutes until seafood is cooked through.
Stir in lemon juice.
Sprinkle parsley on top. Serve With
