Fluffy Condensed Milk Bread Recipe

Ingredients

For the Dough:

  • 240 ml (1 cup) warm milk
  • 75 g (¼ cup) condensed milk
  • 1 egg
  • 30 g (2 tbsp) sugar
  • 7 g (2 ¼ tsp) dry yeast
  • 520 g (4 ¼ cups) flour
  • 1 tsp salt
  • 50 g (¼ cup) butter, softened

For the Glaze:

  • 45 g (3 tbsp) butter
  • 45 g (3 tbsp) condensed milk

Instructions

1. Prepare the Dough:

  • In a mixing bowl, whisk together warm milk, sugar, and condensed milk.
  • Add the dry yeast and egg, then whisk again.

2. Combine Wet and Dry Ingredients:

  • In a separate bowl, mix flour and salt. Gradually add the liquid mixture.

3. Knead the Dough:

  • Using dough hooks, knead the mixture until it comes together. Add softened butter and knead for 10 minutes until smooth and elastic.
  • Cover the dough and let it rise for 1 hour or until doubled in size.

4. Shape the Dough:

  • Cut ⅔ of the dough and roll it into a 25×40 cm rectangle. Roll into a log, then cut into pieces.
  • Place the pieces in a prepared baking pan. Repeat with the remaining ⅓ dough for smaller buns.

5. Second Rise:

  • Let the buns rise for another hour. Brush the tops with egg wash.

6. Bake:

  • Preheat your oven to 180°C (350°F).
  • Bake large buns for 25–30 minutes; smaller buns for 20 minutes.

7. Glaze the Buns:

  • Mix equal parts of butter and condensed milk. Brush this glaze over the buns while they are still warm.

8. Cool and Serve:

  • Allow buns to cool completely before removing them from the baking molds.
  • Enjoy your fluffy condensed milk bread!

Variations

  1. Chocolate-Filled Buns: Add a piece of chocolate or Nutella in the center of each dough piece before rolling.
  2. Savory Option: Replace condensed milk with cream and add cheese or herbs to the dough.
  3. Cinnamon Swirl: Sprinkle cinnamon sugar on the rectangle before rolling into a log.

Tips

  • Warm Milk: Ensure the milk is warm but not hot (around 38°C/100°F) to activate the yeast.
  • Dough Consistency: If the dough is too sticky, add a tablespoon of flour at a time until manageable.
  • Glaze Immediately: Apply the butter-condensed milk glaze while buns are warm for maximum absorption.
  • Storage: Store in an airtight container for up to 3 days or freeze for longer shelf life.

Enjoy the rich, buttery sweetness of these fluffy condensed milk buns!
