Loaded French Bread Pizza

Ingredients:

  • 1 loaf of $1 French bread (from Walmart or any grocery store)
  • 1 cup pizza sauce (store-bought or homemade)
  • 2 cups shredded mozzarella cheese
  • Topping Option 1: Pepperoni, sausage, bacon
  • Topping Option 2: Chicken, spinach, bacon
  • Any additional toppings (mushrooms, onions, olives, peppers, etc.)

Construction:

  1. Preheat the Oven:
    • Set your oven to 475°F (245°C) for a crispy crust.
  2. Prepare the Bread:
    • Cut the French bread in half lengthwise.
    • Place the halves on a baking sheet, cut side up.
  3. Assemble the Pizzas:
    • Spread an even layer of pizza sauce on each half.
    • Sprinkle shredded mozzarella cheese generously.
    • Add toppings:
      • One half with pepperoni, sausage, and bacon
      • The other half with chicken, spinach, and bacon
    • Add any extra toppings based on preference.
  4. Bake the Pizza:
    • Place the baking sheet in the oven.
    • Bake for 10–15 minutes, until the cheese is melted and bubbly, and the edges are golden brown.
  5. Cool & Serve:
    • Let the pizza cool for a couple of minutes before slicing and serving.

Variations:

  • BBQ Chicken Pizza: Use BBQ sauce instead of pizza sauce, and add grilled chicken, red onions, and cheddar cheese.
  • Supreme Style: Add bell peppers, onions, mushrooms, and olives along with pepperoni and sausage.
  • Buffalo Chicken: Toss chicken in buffalo sauce, add mozzarella and blue cheese crumbles.
  • White Pizza: Use garlic butter or Alfredo sauce instead of pizza sauce, topped with spinach, mushrooms, and ricotta.
  • Meat Lovers: Add ham, ground beef, and extra bacon for an ultra-meaty version.

Tips:

  • Crispier Bread Hack: Lightly toast the bread in the oven for 5 minutes before adding toppings to prevent sogginess.
  • Use Pre-Cooked Meats: Since the pizza bakes quickly, make sure all meats (like sausage or bacon) are fully cooked before adding them.
  • Cheese Variations: Mix mozzarella with provolone, parmesan, or cheddar for extra flavor.
