Spinach Feta Stuffed Crescents

Spinach Feta Stuffed Crescents

A delicious appetizer or snack made with buttery crescent dough, creamy feta, and fresh spinach. Here’s everything you need to make and customize them:

Ingredients

Filling:

  • Fresh spinach: 2 cups, chopped
  • Feta cheese: 1 cup, crumbled
  • Cream cheese: 2-3 tablespoons (optional, for extra creaminess)
  • Garlic: 1-2 cloves, minced
  • Onion: ¼ cup, finely diced or sautéed (optional)
  • Dill: 1 teaspoon, chopped (fresh or dried)
  • Salt & pepper: To taste

Dough:

  • Crescent roll dough: 1 can (8 rolls)

Optional Toppings:

  • Egg wash: 1 egg, beaten (for golden tops)
  • Sesame seeds or poppy seeds: For garnish

Construction

  1. Preheat oven to 375°F (190°C).
  2. Prepare filling: In a bowl, mix chopped spinach, feta, garlic, cream cheese (if using), onion, and seasonings until well combined.
  3. Shape crescents: Open the crescent roll dough and separate it into triangles.
  4. Add filling: Place about 1 tablespoon of the spinach-feta mixture on the wide end of each triangle.
  5. Roll & seal: Roll each triangle from the wide end to the narrow tip, tucking the filling as you go. Pinch the edges to seal if needed.
  6. Optional: Brush each crescent with egg wash and sprinkle with sesame or poppy seeds.
  7. Bake: Place crescents on a baking sheet lined with parchment paper. Bake for 12-15 minutes or until golden brown.

Variations

  1. Protein addition: Add cooked, crumbled sausage, shredded chicken, or diced ham to the filling.
  2. Cheese swap: Substitute feta with goat cheese, ricotta, or shredded mozzarella.
  3. Vegetable mix-ins: Add sun-dried tomatoes, mushrooms, or artichokes to the filling for more flavor.
  4. Dough alternative: Use puff pastry or phyllo dough for a flakier texture.
  5. Herb flavors: Experiment with parsley, mint, or oregano in place of dill.

Tips

  • Drain spinach: If using frozen spinach, thaw and squeeze out excess water to avoid soggy crescents.
  • Prevent leaks: Don’t overfill the crescents, and ensure edges are sealed.
  • Prep ahead: Assemble crescents and refrigerate for up to 1 day before baking.
  • Serve fresh: Best served warm, but can be reheated in the oven or air fryer.
  • Make mini versions: Cut crescent triangles smaller for bite-sized appetizers.

Enjoy your Spinach Feta Stuffed Crescents—perfect for parties, quick snacks, or a light meal!
