Amish Sour Cream Noodles
Ingredients
12 oz egg noodles
1 lb ground beef
1 small onion, diced
2 cups tomato sauce or marinara sauce
1 cup sour cream
1 cup cottage cheese
1 1/2 cups shredded cheddar cheese
2 tbsp butter
Salt and black pepper, to taste
1 tsp garlic powder
1 tsp Italian seasoning (optional)
Instructions
Cook the Noodles
Boil egg noodles according to package directions. Drain and toss with butter.
Prepare the Meat Sauce
In a skillet over medium heat, cook ground beef and onion until browned. Drain excess grease.
Season & Simmer
Stir in tomato sauce, garlic powder, salt, pepper, and Italian seasoning. Simmer for 5 minutes.
Make the Creamy Mixture
In a bowl, combine sour cream and cottage cheese.
Layer the Casserole
In a greased baking dish:
Spread half the noodles
Add half the sour cream mixture
Spoon over half the meat sauce
Sprinkle with cheese
Repeat layers.
Bake
Bake at 350°F (175°C) for 25–30 minutes, until hot and bubbly.
Serve Warm
Let rest 5 minutes before serving.
