Amish Creamy Cheddar Broccoli Noodles
Ingredients
12 oz egg noodles
3 cups broccoli florets
2 tbsp butter
2 cloves garlic, minced
2 tbsp all-purpose flour
2 cups milk
2 cups shredded cheddar cheese
1/2 cup cream cheese or sour cream
Salt and black pepper, to taste
1/2 tsp onion powder
1/4 tsp paprika (optional)
Instructions
Cook the Noodles & Broccoli
Bring a large pot of salted water to a boil.
Cook egg noodles according to package directions. Add broccoli during the last 3 minutes of cooking. Drain and set aside.
Make the Cream Sauce
In a large skillet or saucepan, melt butter over medium heat.
Add garlic and cook for 30 seconds.
Thicken the Sauce
Stir in flour and cook for 1 minute, stirring constantly.
Slowly whisk in milk until smooth.
Add the Cheese
Cook until slightly thickened, then stir in cheddar cheese and cream cheese until melted and creamy.
Season
Add salt, pepper, onion powder, and paprika if desired.
Combine Everything
Add cooked noodles and broccoli to the sauce. Toss gently until fully coated.
Serve Warm
Enjoy as a comforting main dish or side
